2% cheese
2% Shredded Cheese tastes like absolutely nothing at all. Yet, I eat it anyway. Why? Because I like to eat cheese. And somehow, even though I can’t taste it, I get the sense that I’m eating cheese. Because it says “cheese” on the package, and with certain combinations of food, like putting some cheese on your turkey tacos, I feel like I’m having a complete taco experience, even though I’m not.
wack. At least fat free sour cream tastes yummy.
So far I have isolated my food condiments to:
Mustard
Soy sauce (the green cap kind)
Fat free sour cream
Just2Good Blue Cheese dressing (tasty as fuck!)
Someday in the future, somebody will start data mining all of these blogs out there. They’ll see totally retarded entries about what people like to eat. They’ll read stories about broken hearts, absurd drunken adventures, and opinions which seem totally crackpot in our time, but in hindsight, turn out to be perfect prophecy. We have virtually unlimited capacity for storage now, per person. (How many GB are the complete thoughts of the average human, in ASCII format?)
And they’ll wonder, “What the hell were people doing wasting all of that storage space?”

Okay, the regular entry. I got my federal tax refund today. This was the first year I e-filed. Received my state refund within a week of filing, and the federal refund two weeks later. As much as I might disagree with Bush’s social politics, I sure like his tax cuts. And yes, I’m aware that we just got a tax cut in a time of record federal deficits. Nice work!
Been playing SOCOM all week, but work’s getting interesting too. I’m getting some fun stuff to do again. Need to be careful about burning out quickly, but that’s what Vegas is for in a couple of weeks, right?
I stayed at work until 1 A.M. today. I haven’t done that in about six months. There was a period of time - back when we thought we could actually get a piece of the dot-com rush - where I used to do that a lot. Nie wieder. This place is now corporatized and lifeless. Maybe that’s why they’re firing a bunch of people and bringing in new blood.
Still, I feel pretty good - the satisfaction you get when you bust something out that’s pretty decent. That feeling’s been pretty infrequent over the past year or so. At least as far as work is concerned.
Everyone go and download the new Jealous Sound MP3 (”The Gift Horse”) from the Better Looking Records website. There are only a few bands out there that I’d buy records from without hearing them or reading reviews of them first. The Jealous Sound is one of them. They can do no wrong. Others: Kepler, the Magnetic Fields, and Early Day Miners. Actually, EDM’s last album wasn’t so hot compared to their first one, but I haven’t given up on them yet.
They started the rain machine across the street. I hear “ACTION!” and then the patter of raindrops. I should go look, but I’m tired and I want to go to sleep.

It’s 2 A.M. and they’re shooting a movie across the street from my apartment building. Looks like it’s in front of the movie theater. They have a frickin’ rain machine - I’m sitting at my computer, and all of a sudden I hear something that sounds like, well, rain. I go to the window and see that across the street, it’s raining.
Oddly enough I have yet to see anyone famous during one of these shoots. But then, I don’t usually look hard enough. I just get bent up that they’re taking up the parking spaces where I have to park every night. Nice work!

Okay…SOCOM was taking up a significant amount of time, so today I made myself do the things I was supposed to do - record some scratch tracks for Steve to play on, laundry, clean apartment, bills, eat, etc. - before I can play. After my laundry gets done, it’s bust time all weekend.
The last two days were pretty OK - a little more focus and feeling less uneasy at work. I’m drinking more water.
I set this up so that when I publish, the blog pings a couple of blog indexes. If you are coming from one of those indexes and have read this so far…sucker! Nice work!
