Stuff

  • Worked the cats this weekend. They’re okay. Some friends’ cats are better than another friend’s cat. I guess it wouldn’t be polite to say that though.
  • Woke up a bit hungover today. Went to party last night where, among other things, this chick that I don’t know said to me upon introduction, “Hey, your webcam is still down.” Bust.
  • Argued with outsourced Dell chick. Turns out they sent me the 32MB version of the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 for my Inspiron 5150, when I ordered and paid for the 64MB version. Yes, it took me 3 months to find out since I never used the laptop that much in the first place. The Device Manager simply says “ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000,” so I just assumed that Dell actually did its job and sent me the right version. Up until now. Plus, this was my music production machine (i.e. no heavy graphics required unless you count the Delay Lama) , and only yesterday did I decide I want to play Halo on it. And if Halo wasn’t buggy and kept crashing, I would have never found out about the video card. Now I have to send my laptop back in - gonna be 2-3 weeks. Weak.
  • Jammed with this band again. I borrowed the singer’s Epiphone Les Paul today, and played with that instead of my Stratocaster. It sounded pretty decent, but like my friend told me, the tuners on the Epiphone are pretty weak. Think I’m going to start looking for a Gibson LP Studio pretty soon.
  • Played Halo (Xbox version) again at my cousin’s house, with five other fools. Alas, no glorious victories this time. There’s one dude who just kicks everyone’s ass and wins every game.
  • I supported the grocery workers’ strike today. That is, when I went to Vons at about 11:30 tonight, the picketers told me to go to the Food 4 Less instead. They also told me to honk on my way out. I did both, and they cheered as I was driving away. Good luck, comrades.
  • Man, those pictures of the conjoined twins are weirding me out.

Songs

  • “Green Grass of Tunnel,” Mum
