whee
Another relatively quiet weekend. Recap:
- Watched all three Infernal Affairs movies (finally - borrowed from Toby like 3 months ago). Movies were entertaining but a bit confusing. Kelly Chen is the new Faye Wong.
- Watched Ong Bak. This movie fuckin’ rules. Standard so-so plot, but the muay thai fights were amazing. Tony Jaa is the new Jackie Chan.
- Went to Hata in Little Tokyo to exploit restaurant.com gift certificate provided by friend, ended up paying a lot of money anyway. Poke was good, everything else was like eating at a high-end diner. Would not go there again, even if I had another restaurant.com gift certificate. I want to go to some of the sushi joints on 1st street, they look dope from the outside.
- Went to Good Luck Bar, got drunk but not drunk enough.
- Wrote half of a wack song that probably won’t see the light of day.
- Blenderized all kinds of shit (see below).
- Some errands and what not.
- Saw gasoline downtown at $2.55/gallon for the cheap stuff.
I wish I had a long summer vacation…

Yay, 3-day weekend. This was a really wack week so I am glad to have the extra day off.
Yesterday I bought a blender. I’ve always wanted a blender, since I was in college. I just never got around to it. Cross that one off the “things to do before you die” list.

Saturday was Regul’s birthday, so I went over to 81st Street. We played Halo for awhile. Me, Brian, and Montez felt sorry for Regul for getting old, so let his team beat ours. Happy birthday, Jon!
Then we went to the Benihana in Santa Monica. I had never been to Benihana before. I was expecting fools to be throwing knives at each other and shit bursting into flames, but there was none of either. It was still pretty cool though. I wonder if there is a Benihana School for Learning How to Flip Shrimp onto Plates.
After that I managed to drive home, and then I went to sleep.
So….I have noticed that traffic to rightonbro.com went down last month. So I went through the stats program to see what was going on. Here are some interesting tidbits:
I have been learning some things at work about boosting PageRank in Google. I changed some things up yesterday, we will see if it helps.

Weekend, yay. This was a real jam-up week at work, but nothing that boozing for the last two nights didn’t take care of. I haven’t been hungover or anything. I generally just wake up real surly for a few hours, and then it’s fine.
Went to Death Cab for Cutie show last night. Actually, we went to see the opening band, but it turns out they actually started this show on time and we missed them. Death Cab were tight, but the mix was really crap and my friends weren’t into them, so we left after three songs to go booze some more. So they earned some easy money last night. You’re welcome.
My friend Chris took most of the pictures last night from the mobile weblog. Good to see he slaved away at film school, just to end up taking pics on my camera phone. They look really good, Chris! Nice Job!

Who the hell eats Swanson brand Chicken a la King in a can? There’s always about four cans at the local Albertsons, and you can’t even get it at Vons.
I buy a can about once every four months. It’s probably the worst possible food for you, ever. But goddamn, that shit is tasty as hell. Jam it on top of some toast and it’s like eating crack, except it’s not illegal.
I’d link to it, but Swanson doesn’t even have any product information for it on its Website.
So, my new goal is to find out:
* What exactly is in Chicken a la King?
* From what geographic region and socioeconomic class did it originate?
* Who else eats it in Los Angeles besides me?
I have to get ready for work now, but rest assured that once I have some free time, I will be on the case. Thank you.

Okay - so the season finale of Las Vegas was pretty good. CSI Miami blew chunks. It was supposed to be the introduction to the CSI New York characters, but they all sucked. They’re all like wooden and shit, and not likeable at all. Weak.
I’ve been itching to go to Vegas for the past week, but can’t see how I possibly can do it until the middle of June at least. Weak.
Major shit going down at work this week. Fools are going to get worked in the next month or so. It’s certainly possible that I could be in the “fools” category but for the first time in the history of my company’s multiple rounds of layoffs and firings, I’m not really sweating it. Got too much other shit going on to bother.
Gonna send away for a free Maker’s Mark golf ball…bust.

Running annoyingly and endlessly through my head all day today: “Party All the Time” by Eddie Murphy. “My girl wants to party all the time, party all the time, party all the tiiiiiiiimeeeee…”
New episodes of Las Vegas and CSI: Miami tonight. That’s about all I can really ask of a Monday.
Shit, I really need to get a life.

Quiet weekend. Spent some time finishing up a track in Cubase, worked on some new jams, ran some errands, boiled some corn.
Here is a picture of my audio rig, for those who are curious. Also, a night-time shot.
