Well, it looks like I know where I stand as far as being employed. I had my first meeting with the new senior VP of my department at work today. Actually, I (as the “product owner”) wasn’t even on the original meeting request - I was added at the last minute. So, the meeting was senior VP, me, the business owner, and some people from the tech team. Senior VP ignored me the entire time - like, he would literally turn away and look at his Blackberry whenever I opened my mouth. Then he dissed the work I did over the past 3 months, and scheduled a bunch of work where I don’t have to do anything. The writing’s on the wall…
I’m not really bothered that I’m probably going to get worked. The only thing I’m annoyed with is that he never got my side of the story about what’s been going on for the past 3 months. Senior VP hasn’t said one word to me since he arrived. Based on my five years of developing award-winning Web products, I honestly have to say that what I’ve done so far this year is pretty remarkable, considering what I had to go through and the people I had to deal with. But, that’s totally cool. I’m totally ready to visit Matt in Australia find a new job. Just hook me up with some severance, let me collect unemployment for awhile, and I’ll be chillin’. Let’s just hurry up and get it over with, ‘cos I got other things to do…
Oh, speaking of the office - I was watching Beverly Hills Cop on AMC this weekend, and I realized that the scene where Axel Foley gets thrown through the window (and then arrested for it), was shot next door to where I work now. Neat.

There will always be a position for you at 81 Street Lighthouse Productions. You can run our web site. That will be award winning.
Thanks, but I think I found my new calling. Plug this URL into your browser: http://www.jacksguest.com
Why was I crossed out?
If I ever got worked from work, I would never, ever, ever travel to Australia to visit you. I’d be looking so very, very hard for a new job, every single day.
