Poker and afternoon TV

Kicked it yesterday. Ran a couple of errands and watched some episodes of Alias in the morning. Then, hung out with Chris, where we played video games and online poker (not for money though). That was the first time I’d played poker online - it was pretty fun, and less intimidating than playing in person.

There was a brief period in the afternoon where I turned on the TV and started watching “Cops.” It felt like I’d bottomed out already. I turned the TV off. At least it wasn’t Judge Judy, Oprah, or Dr. Phil (although there were a few seconds of each yesterday).

Don’t get me wrong - I’m doing great. That few minutes, though, was pretty eye-opening. I’m starting to realize the implications of this time in my life - I can do almost anything right now, and fortunately I have some resources that give me a period of time to try new ideas and do things I’ve always wanted to do. But I ain’t gonna waste my time in front of the TV watching stuff I don’t really want to watch.

Time to get my day started. What are YOU going to do today?
